ABOUT Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a common cause of chronic pain in today’s world. According to the American College of Rheumatology, around 1 in 50 Americans suffer from fibromyalgia. Since it is chronic in nature, it can last for months to even years and is difficult to diagnose.

CAUSES OFFibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia presents itself, in most cases, after a traumatic event such as physical trauma, a major surgery, infection, or even significant psychological stress. Chronic inflammation within the body is also a major cause of fibromyalgia. In other cases, fibromyalgia symptoms gradually accumulate over time with no single triggering event.

RISK FACTORS

Women are more likely to develop fibromyalgia than men. People at risk include those who have or had had anxiety, depression, a major surgery, infection, or physical trauma.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

While there is no real cure for fibromyalgia, managing fibromyalgia symptoms is super important. Many people with fibromyalgia can keep their symptoms at bay with exercise and using stress-reduction measures.

Getting regular chiropractic adjustments may help aid in the relief of this chronic pain.  By getting your spine aligned, in conjunction with soft tissue therapy, the reduction of painful trigger points may subside or help manage the severity of the symptoms. Along with chiropractic adjustments, we also offer red light therapy which may also be helpful in the reduction of symptoms experienced in those with fibromyalgia.

Our Chiropractic Techniques

Chiropractic Care

Our approach to Chiropractic begins with a comprehensive exam to look at the structure and the function of the spine. We have several ways to correct that through non-invasive chiropractic using things like manual adjustments, e-stimulation, intersegmental traction, spinal decompression, laser therapy, flexion distraction, thompson drops, activator methods, and more!

Laser Therapy

Warm Infrared Laser Therapy is a great low-risk technique to treat chronic pain. It reduces inflammation and promotes healing and pain relief.

Exercises and Stretches

Exercises and Stretches are a great way to improve posture and range of motion as well as decrease back pain and prevent injury while decreasing muscle soreness.
