ABOUT Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a disorder that is characterized by widespread pain throughout the musculoskeletal system that is most often accompanied by fatigue, sleepiness even after a healthy 8 hours of sleep, memory and mood issues. There are still a lot of unknowns about Fibromyalgia but it is the belief that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations in your body by affecting the way that your brain and spinal cord process both painful and non painful signals.

CAUSES OFFibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia presents itself, in most cases, after a traumatic event such as physical trauma, a major surgery, infection, or even significant psychological stress. Chronic inflammation within the body is also a major cause of fibromyalgia. In other cases, fibromyalgia symptoms gradually accumulate over time with no single triggering event.

RISK FACTORS

Women are more likely to develop fibromyalgia than men. People at risk include those who have or had had anxiety, depression, a major surgery, infection, or physical trauma.

Our Chiropractic Techniques

Chiropractic Care

Our approach to Chiropractic begins with a comprehensive exam to look at the structure and the function of the spine. We have several ways to correct that through non-invasive chiropractic using things like manual adjustments, e-stimulation, intersegmental traction, spinal decompression, laser therapy, flexion distraction, thompson drops, activator methods, and more!
