Often times people may be hesitant to visit our office because they’re not sure what to expect. So, we’d like to take time to explain our process and what you can expect during your treatment – from your first visit to maintenance to home care.
First Visit
On your first visit you will have a one-on-one consult with one of our chiropractors. You will discuss your needs and why you came to visit. Your doctor will take the time to learn an in-depth history of your complaint and medical history. If your doctor feels that it is necessary, x-rays will be performed on site, as well as detailed orthopedic and neurologic exams. These are all elements that will help in your diagnosis.
Second Visit
Your doctor will then take time to review this information before your second appointment. During your second appointment, you will have another one-on-one consult with our chiropractors. The doctor will explain your diagnosis, as well as review the findings from your x-rays and other applicable tests with you. He will then explain the best course of treatment which he has prescribed. Some of our most common treatments include: chiropractic manual manipulation, mechanical traction, and electronic stimulation.
Continued Treatment
During your continued treatment, your chiropractor will complete regular re-exams. These are set at regular intervals throughout your treatment which allow the doctors to monitor your progress throughout each phase of your care. It also allows our doctors to continue your care conversation and make any necessary adjustments to your care. During the latter part of your care, we may recommend different home care exercises to help you have greater control over your condition and recovery.
When our doctors, and you, are satisfied with your treatment and progress, we will schedule your final exam. You will have another one-on-one consult with your doctor. If necessary, we will perform x-rays and other tests again. At this time, we will provide you with knowledge and direction for your maintenance of care, including any follow up appointments and at-home care.
We hope that this answers your questions and alleviates any hesitation you may have about seeing our office for chiropractic care.
